GETTING INVOLVED
Our student club is connected to and supported by the Math Outreach Department at UofT, a department who has been organizing these activities for years! School visits are run by students that participate in teacher training prior to leading these activities by qualified educators! The activities will be oriented to the grade and level of the class. The purpose of these school visits is to teach students areas where math can be applied through fun and interactive activities. Activities will connect to school curriculum in some instances, however, our goal is to motivate students and push their understanding of the subject.

For student who want to get involved with the School Visits (as an instructor), you must provide us with a Vulnerable Screening Sector. Click here for the process of getting that done!
If you are a teacher and interested in having your classroom participate in one of our school visits, please visit the Math+ School Visits Website here.

Count Me In
The Count Me In Math Club is run by the The Department of Mathematics via the Math Outreach Department. It is directed towards elementary school students who fear math or find it difficult. We hope to change their attitude towards it and build their confidence in Math. In its second year of running, the Count me in Math Club targets several schools in Toronto, working with kids and adolescents on a range of math topics that they might not see in their everyday classes, in hopes to build their interest in Mathematics.
Pictured above is some of the work done by students in the "Count Me In" program.
School Visit/"Count Me In" Instructor Training
Many of you have been asking about being an instructor for the school visits. This is your chance! Sign up for our instructor training to be certified to teach for our programs. Training session dates are those listed above and times vary depending on the session. Email us at iaamuoft@gmail.com for details on times and on how to register.
Note: There are limited spots! Sign up ASAP if you are interested in Volunteering as an Instructor.
OISE Math Pop-up Event
This year, It's All About Math Club is starting a new program to help elementary school teacher candidates on teaching mathematics in the classroom. Many times, it is seen that teacher candidates pursuing a Masters of Teaching in elementary school education are well prepared on their knowledge of teaching itself, and the evaluation and assessment of students; however, they have a lack of the actual content knowledge. Working directly with OISE, our goal is to help these teacher candidates feel more confident in their math knowledge during their practicum in the year. We are looking for any volunteers who are passionate about math education to come in and help these T/Cs improve their lesson plans and help them understand the content better.
COMC Markers
The Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge is looking for volunteer markers! U of T's math department will be marking all the contest booklets across Canada and will be using Crowdmark to help mark the tests. We would love the help of volunteer markers and if you are interested in gaining experience in marking and gain hours towards a CCR, email us as iaamuoft@gmail.com.
